From 2001-2007, the engines were made, as already noted by a BMW / Chrysler venture called Tritec, in Brazil.
The Mark 2 model introduced in 2008 switched to a Pugeuot / BMW engine built in Europe. The "S" variant switched from a supercharger to a turbocharger.
