  • Psoriasis and eczema are closely-related skin conditions. Both skin conditions confuse healthy cells with injured cells, causing skin cells to become inflamed and form a patchy red area. You may use the same techniques to treat both conditions.

    Ointments and Creams

    Both ointments and creams can effectively treat your psoriasis and eczema if both infections are moderate.

    Anthralin

    A medication that should normalize your skin's abnormally confusing your skin cells. It should smooth the irritated areas of skin. Anthralin may stain the skin or any other object it touches when sitting too long.

    Topical Corticosteroids

    An anti-inflammatory drug may be prescribed by your physician if you have moderate signs of psoriasis or eczema. This type of topical medication will help slow your skin cells' deterioration.

    Moisturizers

    Moisturizers may help reduce dry skin or itchiness caused by psoriasis and eczema. However, it will not in most cases remove or prevent the actual conditions

    Coal tar

    According to the Mayo Clinic "coal tar is probably the oldest treatment for psoriasis. It reduces scaling, itching and inflammation." This treatment may not be as effective for eczema.
