Do you like the contemporary art of today, or would you prefere and respect artists more, if they reverted back to the techniques of the old masters? Which art would you treasure most?(sorry if spellings crap)

I like quite a lot of contemporary art done today. Quality, by the way, is not depending of what you do, but on how you do it. "Old masters" technique is not better per se. And today, you will find artists working in all kinds of techniques, even including "old master" painting techniques.
