Who's responsibility is it to dispose of empty paint cans and paint scrapings from a home maintenance job - the homeowner or the contractor hired to do the work?

I feel like the contractor should dispose of things like paint cans himself. If you signed a contract it should be addressed there.

The owner is responsible for trash, debris, and construction waste. A contractor can't be expected to haul away all this stuff, unless an agreement was made beforehand.
