I took a job which was totally not my profession and i managed to do it.

While in the military, on a routine training exercise on some mountain glaciers, a sort of ice shift happened, a bit like a small earthquake ... and a big crack opened up in the ice while all the ice shook ... the soldier ahead of me fell in ... I was carrying a hundred foot length of mountain climbing rope and without hesitating, I slammed my ice axe into the solid ice beside the crack, tied one end of the rope to the axe and the other end to myself, then jumped in after him ... the fresh edges of the new crack had lots of sharp ice edges that shredded my uniform and cut me all over on both sides until the hundred foot rope pulled tight as I reached the end ... it was not long enough ... so as I pulled out my bayonet and began to cut the rope, I yelled up, "A hundred foot rope is not long enough, tie two together!" then I cut the rope, jammed my feet against the sides and slide down the rest of the twenty or so feet, cutting my boots and feet, until I splashed into a stream under the ice, where I was able to save the unconscious wounded soldier from drowning ... then we waited for the rest of our platoon to rescue us both ... the army gave me a medal for my heroic deed ... .

My ex wife file for divorce and custody of the children. I got an attorney and counter filed. I got the kids and raised them. I was a single parent for about 5 years starting when my son was one year old.

I was born. Scary but I did it.
