  • You can't even get an F8 key safe mode out of it? How about being able to access the bios right at initial boot using the del key? If neither of those work, then it's keyboard related. I'd be checking the keyboard cable or swap the keyboard out with another. The keyboard starts up with the bios and doesn't depend on windows being loaded so if the hardware is good, it ought to be working. The only other thing that could be an issue would be the keyboard controller that is built into the motherboard. If that's the case, you're looking at buying a new mobo. You can't replace it without it costing more than a new motherboard, if it's even possible with your particular mobo.
