When one of two fraternal twins, obviously each in their own sac, is found to no longer have a heartbeat, what is the best procedure to ensure a healthy birth of the surving twin? I've heard both, a D&C and leaving the deceased twin, to be dangerous.

• Thanks for your response and sorry for your loss. I'm only 10 weeks so maybe risking the D&C may be the better of the two options then.

• Not knowing your condition or circumstances, combined with my lack of medical knowledge, I hesitate to offer an opinion, but this looks like the best alternative of the two. Your doctor can tell you what is happening in there and whether or not you have any time to wait. If the doctor says not to wait, think of me, and go for it! I keep you in my thoughts.
