GO ON GO ON GO ON!! As long as you are a good singer why would they laugh at you? This is a once in a life time chance for you and your asking if you should take it? That is nuts of you! Who cares what other people say? It is not like they had a chance! It was you!!
-
YOU CAN IF YOU THINK YOU CAN....
-
Of course you should! You are persuing a once in a lifetime dream. Congrats a million times over!
-
Right, yu have one of two choices to make - go, potentially be set up for life, have your fifteen minutes of fame, meet some amazing people, make some lifelong friends and have the experience of a lifetime.... OR You can watch it on television like the rest of us and think "If only...." The worst thing about doing something a bit scary is thinking about it beforehand - it is never as scary as you imagine it to be! Sure, there will probably be someone at school who will tease you for it - but there will be so many more who wish you well and the teasers are usually the most jealous! Go for it!
-
It they are real friends they won't tease you. They will cheer for you.

I had a choice to make much like this one about 20 years ago. I decided on the safe path and even though my life is now wonderful I constantly wonder...what if? If you even remotely think that you want a career as a singer, I say do it. What if you make it into the finals? Or, God forbid, what if you win? What will your friends say then? I know what you can say to them: "At least I tried. What have YOU done lately?" And win or lose, you'll have the opportunity to meet people that may change your life drastically. Either path is the correct one depending on how you live your life. Good luck. Oh, by the way...if you win I expect a shout-out while you're up on the podium. "I want to thank jtolb65 for giving me the courage to give it a shot." I'll be watching.

I'M WRITING IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE IT MAKES MY ADVICE LOOK MORE IMPORTANT THAN IT REALLY IS. GO! GO! GO! These opportunities are quite rare. Don't let anything hold you back. Teasing hurts for a little while, but wimping out will hurt you for the rest of your life. Go for it.

Honestly.. and this is just my opinion i'm sure others will disagree .. But I think singing acts kind of ruin Britain' got talent, In the way that.. I think we already have an abundance of Shows E.G. Xfactor that just focus on singing! I watch it for all the weird and wonderful talents people do! E.G. Ukraine's got talent winner with her sand art! She was AMAZING... I really don't want to put you off! And I wish you the very best of luck if you do go for it! Just wanted to give an honest opinion

Pleeeease go! This is an amazing chance, and you shouldn´t be intimidated by jerks to let it go. But you do have a point, and if I were you, I´d talk alot with the friends I trusted and family beforehand. Build up your network to be ready to support you when the storm comes, no matter if it´s positive or negative. You´ll need it anyhow, but of course especially if people freeze you out at school. In that case, turn to you group and just grow on this experience. If you wanna make it you have to learn to ignore jealous people (cause that´s what they are). Remember that no matter what, you´re alreade a winner :) now go kick ass!

If you can't handle this tiny bit of hurdle you aren't going to last very long in the public eye. First of all you have to want it and secondly of all I hope you choose to do this. It will be a chance of a lifetime experience. Don't let the insecure and jealous hold you back ever. They are no friends if they don't support your endeavors. Very good luck on your choice.

If you are going to end up on stage and on TV then you can't go around caring what your friends think. I heard that the show puts people through first stage auditions with producers and so only the best and the worst get as far as the celebrities. If you are sure you are not one of the tone deaf ones that the show makes fun of, then you have nothing to be afraid of at all because all the 'average' auditions don't get given any TV time (unless its someone with a sob story...).
-
As other people have stated, thinking "what if" will always be worse than thinking "what if they laugh"... By the way: Could you perhaps disclose your real name, or at least the stage name that you'll be using, so that we know you aren't just making this up?
-
You absolutely should go on.... & just accept that you're friends will laugh.
