10 minutes? It should take 10 seconds.
Do not use your nails. It is a terrible habit to start and eventually you will give yourself a bad infection, or scrape your eyeball.
For me the blink method works. I gently pinch the bottom of the lens, then blink, causing it to buckle and pop out.
did you not have a try out like an exercise at your docs before you started using lenses..?? Well i did.
Nails?? taking it out with your nails is a very bad idea, tell you why, one of those times you r for sure going to poke your eyes( which had happened to me because my nails were too long although i dont tk em out with my nails)and nother thing is you're going to have a tear or a scratch in your lenses, not to metion both the poke n the scratch is going to mk you feel very uneasy.
Yeesh, I wouldn't think it'd be good for your eyes. Go to a real full-fledged opthamologist and ask him/her. Is your issue with eye dryness? I had that, and had to stop wearing contacts for a month because of tiny pits in my whatsit (cornea? whatever the surface part is). Wearing them could really damage your eyes, so definitely see an opth-ist.

Generally people are told they need short nails when starting to use contacts.
I've heard of some gadget you can buy to assist you taking them out, but I don't know how good it is.

even when short my nails are sharp.
and the lady who gave me the "class" on how to put them in and take them out, never said anything about my nails being long being bad.

I find the instructions for using contacts varies a lot between optometrists. My first one didn't even tell me I needed cleaning solution, even though she knew I was transitioning from dailies to 2 weeklies.
In the end I think it always pays to do extra research on anything new, especially involving your health.
