Yes. In fact, the Tibetan Buddhist Sects used to fight each other in long standing religious political civil wars. The Gelugpa, Karma Kagyupa, Sakyapa and Nyingmapa. Its part of Tibet's ancient history. As a child, the Dalai Lama learned of this in-fighting that kept the Tibetan nation fractured. In the movie Kundun- the young Dalai Lama asks his teachers "monks have guns?"....

Yes, quite a few even on both accounts. a recent example would be the 20th century civil war in Sri Lanka where the Buddhist Sinhalese majority fought with the Hindu Tamil minority off and on for the past 25 years.
