Apples or Oranges? But seriously, one could argue that modern Musicals and Rock Operas evolved in a continuous line from classical opera--operettas were in there along the way--because originally opera WAS the pop music of the time, the way Musicals/Rock Operas are today. So, after all that pontificating, gotta be: both. :) ++++

I don't know much of rock operas, but I like italian operas and american and even spanish soap operas.
