  • I think american workers/consumers are.
  • Maybe. Given the enormous wealth stratification in the United States... http://www.lcurve.org/ ...and the fact that most of the people at the high-wealth/high-income side of this stratification are Republicans, it is reasonable to deduce that the spending habits of people who actually have money (Republicans) would be more responsible for economic growth than the spending habits of people who lack money. Whether this is a socially desirable or stable situation is a separate question. . . .
  • Economic growth? Unemployment rose again, Consumer spending dropped again, The stock market fell 240 points again yesterday and 9 more major banks failed yesterday. I wouldn't exactly call that growth
  • No. It's part of the natural economic cycle. +5
  • well obama is in office, and if memeory serves me right, he is a republican, no (i dunno, i'm not american)... so i would guess the increase in the economy is an effect of the policies he made... so by default, yes, the republicans are responsible for that growth.
  • This growth was due to the cash for clunkers, and now that is over. There is no real positive growth and false positive is what this was. The manufacture base in this country is still idle.
  • No one is solely responsible for anything. It's wrong to credit only Republicans with causing the problem for needing growth and it's wrong to credit only Dems for the growth. It's a societal statistic that only measures one aspect of society when it doesn't even take into consideration the important factors like how many people have to choose food over health care. +3
  • Of Course! Anything good that happens is because of Republicans. Anything bad that happenes is becuase of Democrats. Understand?
