  • If your not opposed to the idea of it, the contraceptive pill often seems to help or even remove the pain from menstral craps. Of course though, making the decision to take contraception isn't to be taken lightly. If you already are taking the pill, you could try another one with a higher rate of helping with cramps. Also - some female multivitamins claim they help. In terms of simple methods - lying down at the first feeling of the cramps is supposed to be the best way to ease the pain. Exercise. Abdominal massage. Yoga. Sex. A heated pad over the area. Taking asprin or ibuprofen (ideally start taking this before the pain occurs, if you sense you may be about to come on your period soon). These are all supposed to work well, but invariably women find some work better than others for them. It's all about finding what works best for you
