The Iraq war was unnecessary. Too much deficit spending. A medicare prescription benefit we couldn't afford. He overstepprd his authority with his warrantless wiretapping program. He failed to secure our southern border. He failed at social security reform, although I give him credit for at least attempting to push it towards privatization. History may shine a different light on him, depending on the outcome of the "war on terror" but in general he was a disappointment.

- You were good until you said "I give him credit for attempting to push toward privatization of social security". think what would have happened to the social security funds, if they had been invested in private sector in the last 9 months. I give you double point for pointing out the Medicare part A and part B crap that was passed. and now they are screaming that the health care plan will increase the "premiums" for it.

- Sorry but I do not believe the federal government ever had the power under our constitution to enact social security in the first place. It is little more than a federal welfare program. There is no rate of return on your tax money. It was a horrible idea and has become a terrible burden on the taxpayer. I'd much rather see private investment accounts for each individual worker. At the very least, they could have run it like a traditional pension where the money is invested and grown. SSI is just another example of the government's incompetence.

Because he thought of himself as "compassionate" and signed too many liberal bills passed by Nancy Pelosi. Lets hope that Sarah Palin will not repeat his mistakes.

The only way to pull this country out of this mess is treat the liberals like what they are - a pack of greedy arrogant vermin.
