  • Providing they have no chronic illnesses that may affect the blood and are in no high risk groups/on medication, I think it would be a great help. I wouldn't go as far as to say 'everyone', although obviously the more blood donated the better.
  • Considering it is easily replenished by the healthy, I am not sure why you wouldn't. You are not going to miss it.
  • I wish I could. They won't have me. First of all, I truly am a difficult stick. Even their supervisor couldn't get a vein. Secondly, I'm often anemic when they finally get one. Eventually they told me to never come back. If I could donate, I'd be there as often as I was allowed. It is an easy way to save lives.
  • I have always thought that giving blood thru the Red Cross is a noble cause. But, as a cancer survivor, my blood is no longer acceptable. Thank you for your question. +4
  • Unfortunately, gay men who are not virgins can't give blood unless they lie. Not matter how often they have been tested for HIV, no matter how few sexual partners they have had, no matter if they practice safe sex with a monogomous partner of fifty years!
  • No! I absolutely do NOT believe ALL people should give blood! There are LOTS of people with diseases that should NEVER give blood! Are you kidding???????
  • Everyone is not able to donate blood. I donate blood every 3 months.
  • Nope... so so so many people don't qualify to give blood. The criteria which excludes you from donating is a very long list. Rightly. Of those who are able, then while I think it would be great if they did donate blood (especially those from under-represented groups) I would never go as far as saying "should". Giving a part of your body, essentially, should always remain a private choice - especially when we think of the religions that won't allow it, contradictory personal beliefs, and factor in phobias too. I don't qualify to give blood.
  • Not everyone who wants to donate blood can donate it.
