In A DVD Format, For eg : DVD+RW, DVD-RW Format, What does the "plus" and "minus" sign indicate? No body gives me a clear convincing answer

    They are just names for two different format using slightly different technologies. It is just marketing. The "minus" is really a dash - the first one to announce was DVD dash RW. The second one, by using plus, cleverly turned that dash into a minus, making the first one look inferior.
