Yes, I understand. I just want to be left where I die. I could fed a pack of dogs somewhere.
-
Your family can borrow my manure spreader if that will help.
-
Makes perfect sense to me. I want to be remembered for who I was, the good deeds I do, and the way I lived. I want to live on in memories, not some expensive sepulcher for generations down the road to gaze at in awe. When I die, I'm through with this body - this tabernacle as the Word describes it. Just dump it in a hole somewhere and remember me. I won't be there to care, anyway. I'll be in better places.

Get cremated or donate your body to science.
-
Same here...An old pine box (or cardboard) will do just fine. +5
-
Yep, I'm not putting that debt on my family.
-
Absolutely. If you want to pay respects to me, do it while I'm alive, don't feel like you have to do it to the rotting husk that used to house my soul. At least three generations of my family have felt the same way.
-
I hope McDonalds branch out to doing funerals in 30 years time.
-
Yep, me too!
-
Of course. A cardboard box in the back door of the crematorium.
-
ashes to ashes is my plan. with a memorial service at the local macdonalds.
-
Yeah, makes sense to me!
-
Then die in a foreign country that isn't able to bill your family.
-
Makes absolute sense. But remember that funerals are a way for the living to remember your life and to achieve closure regarding your death. Sure, you won't care, but consider what's best for those grieving you too.
-
I feel the same way and have discussed this with my lady. Cremation and the cheapest possible disposal, probably into the compost pile. +5
-
Makes perfect sense to me.
-
sure does it is a waste of money. i am donating myself to science +5
-
Buy an urn and get cremated.
-
Perfect sense. Give me a cardboard box and maybe a fancy commemorative urn for the mantle. lol
-
funerals are for the living, not the dead. let those who mourn your passing make those decisions.
-
I always thought of funerals as more for the family then the deceased anyways. I personally want to be cremated to save family money and then maybe have somebody toss me out some where I cared about when I was alive. If your family insists on having a funeral direct them here to save money!! http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_constraint=0&ic=48_0&search_query=casket&Find.x=0&Find.y=0&Find=Find

Funerals are for the survivors, not the deceased. A "proper" ceremony helps people in the process of grieving. If they feel that they have not done the right thing, they can find it harder to get over their loss. By all means express your preferences, but let your loved ones do what they think is right. It is their ceremony, not yours.
-
Absolutely. I wouldn't want my family to pay for an expensive one for me either. However, perhaps if it would make them feel better, they can do whatever they want.
