  • This is a brilliant question! +1 (wish I could rate more!!) In short, I think it comes down to principle. It's not fair to judge someone on a factor that they cannot control. Does that make sense? Sure there are some stereotypes that certain races fit into, and personally, I find it funny when someone acts like their stereotype says they will... but that is a result of their culture. Take this example: If I hate all Jewish people because of what's going on in the middle east, and refuse to do business with them, then I am banning myself from half the banks in the world right? But what does the businessman who opened and runs a successful bank here in the US have to do with the affairs of the middle east? Nothing... therefore it's not fair to be racist against a group of people when every individual is different! Hope that helps - look forward to hearing other peoples opinions :)
  • Perhaps they don't agree with that very proposition. I don't. Sure, people who have not been unequivocaly taught about human equality may look at others funny or hold some preconceptions, but they will usually be open to changing their opinion, when real experience proves those preconceptions wrong. Unindoctrinated usually = Reasonable (if only narrowly)
