Help answer this question below.
my hubby, his father did.
I believe I am, and I believe they all would agree. My grandmother and mother are my mentors. I took what I learned, added my own zings, and now make stomachs and people happy.
My hubby is best at meats/main courses & I'm better with veggies, side dishes & soups. We were both self taught. Hubby is a foodie though. He can look at a spice or seasoning & pair it with the oddest stuff & it turns out amazing!
... I am ...
... several people ... I am a certified nutritionist & certified Chinese Herbologist ... my friend is a chef ... have read many cook books and have been shown how to prepare numerous local dishes while I was traveling the 28 countries I have visited ...
My mom. She is a chef.
Well.. used to be
Hard to choose between my three children. All take pride in cooking. Mostly self taught but I gave them the love of diverse cuisine so they are all adventurous cooks..Taught all of them the basics, including my son.
I am, and I learned in mandatory home ec class in school and also taught myself by joining a cookbook club when I was 13. I did this in self defense as both my parents were terrible cooks.
I am. I taught myself....trial and error.
I am. I learned from my Mother,Cook Books, friends Mothers and Cooking Shows. Experience is the best Teacher.
i am without a doubt ... and i learned from my mom and lots of trial and error
My s/o is and she is self taught
Me and Me lol
well my dad taught me a few things
My grandma.
I am, I taught myself most of it, my neighbor helped me and I took a few classes.
Me..and..me!!!
My father is. I don't know who taught him - never asked him about it. But despite that I don't try to learn from him - I have my own cooking style and way of preparing the food.
My grandmother,her mom.
I am, without a doubt, the best cook in the family, and i taught myself. In fact i am hosting Turkey day w/ a 26 lb turkey and all the trimmings:)
My wife. She got the basics from her mother, especially dinners. Also she had some input from my mother, especially cakes and pastries. Then she went to night school and did a cordon bleu cookery course.
Our older son is next best - his home-made crême caramel and crême brulée are to die for.
Me.Mostly my Grandmother taught me.She was the best! Also learned from Mom,Dad,other Grandmother, aunt, hubby, and practice.
Me ^_^ I learned from my mother who learned from my grandmother - and improved it =P I'm actually kind of competitive when it comes to my culinary skillz.
I am.
I learned from my Grandmother, 4yrs of culinary school, 15 yrs working as a Chef for others and 4 yrs now with my catering business.
My grandmother, I wish I could have her back. Her good cooking on a budget was second to none and healthy too.
+5
I am - my mother was a good cook and taught me the basics. But I have gone way beyond that. But, the cuisine and knowledge is way better than 50 years ago.
My sister. And her Italian mother-in-law, from Italy, taught her.
My mom. I don't know who taught her because my grandma doesn't cook. I think I'm pretty good myself and I learned some through my mother and mostly through recipes, the foodnetwork channel, and trial and error.
My wife by far. She learned from her 1st mother-in-law and is also self taught.
Alive family members ME BY MILES everyone would live off take away or breakfast meals without me. In the most modest way put lol
My father used to do most of our cooking. He also made great cakes and cookies, fresh beautiful jam and pickled onions. He taught himself to cook and loved to cook. Mind you, it may have been a case of survival as my mother was a terrible cook.
Now that my sister has passed away, that would be me. Taught a little by my mother and the rest self taught.
Humbly, I'll say I am. I was taught by my mother and I learned by myself, reading and watching, talking with others who really cared about getting the most and the best flavor out of their ingredients and serving things with love.
My partner, who trained as a professional chef.
HOLD ON LET ME GO AND ASK THEM I WILL BE QUICK!
I'm going to say my mother. She can basically wipe up ANYTHING from scratch, with or without a recipe. She learned from my grandmother, who again, was astounding in the kitchen. I hope to to cook like my mum one of these days.
Actually we are all talented from my mom side, and from dad's side, my grandma makes great meals.
My wife. I'd describe her as largely self taught, with a generous sprinkling of ideas from her grandmother, and whatever recipes look good to her.
Would you be willing to share what you typically eat in one day? Include beverages with the exclusion of water.
