We say God is our "Father" because we know that he is the source of all existence. Also, "Father" because of all those male-oriented cultures in them ancient times (glad those days are over huh?). As far as religion says, we will never really 'move out' and that we'll always have a need for God. (mostly in the salvation department)

If you are a Christian you never stop relying on God. You must always try to live in His will. The only way to do that is to be in His word and through prayer. We should mature as Christians so that our walk will progress but we never get to the point where we can say, "Ok God I'll take it form here."

Christians believe that God has revealed Himself as a just but loving Father. As a professing Christian, I believe this to be true, not just because I read it, but because I am in a relationship with him through his son Jesus. I do not believe that we ever "grow out" of God, any more than we grow out of having human parents. Our relationship may change, we may rebel, we may even turn our back, but He is still our Father, waiting for our return.

He will always be there to take care of my needs. As a human I try to do things myself, but fail horribly. He loves me more than I can comprehend and is always there when I need Him. I am working very hard not to 'move out' from His wonderful home and do not ever want Him to stop supporting me. Hope this helps your inquiry. In His grasp, <:))))<>< My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge.--Psalm 62:7
