Take him to small claims court. Contact the women's shelter, they will know.

if you are married, you are both responsible to pay the bill. Also, if yu file a civil suit against him for your injuries, you can be awarded the cost of your medical bills and also money for pain and suffering. Then YOU can garnish HIS wages!
