Well, I had an aunt from Iowa who said people up their thought Missourians were hicks. People in Missouri have always cracked jokes about Arkansas hicks. Living close to Kansas where the Civil War was raging before Fort Sumter was fired on, there is to this day debate about those on the other side of the state line. Those Kansas drivers are rude and self centered etc. Missourians are old fashioned etc. Those people in Kansas City Mo. are criminals. People in Independence are red necks, and white trash. It goes on and on. Mostly in jest, but there are believers.
