  • My oldest brother served in the army towards the end of WWII in occupied Italy.
  • My father was in France for WW II. I went to Vietnam.
  • I have several older cousins that were in WWII. One has since died but several are still alive.
  • My family served in almost every war in American history. We had family in the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Civil War (North only, I think), WWI, WWII (my Grandfather), Korea, Vietnam, and myself in the Iraq War. My Grandfather was in the Navy I believe, he passed away when I was only a boy so I only remember him saying he was in the military in WWII. My wife's great uncle was in WWII and went down with the USS Indianapolis.
  • My grand dad died to cancer 3 years after the end of the war. The cancer was brought on due to chemicals in the ammo he was using while shooting down German planes over the white cliffs. My dad was evacuated from London in 1942 after spending 3 years down Bethnal Green tube station during the blitz.
  • My grandfather served in the British Navy during WWII. My father did National Service in the 1950s but he didn't see active service.
  • My father was on the battleship, California, during WWII.
