Because someone flags them. They don't seem to do much with those I flag!!! I'm not the overseer that's for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!

They get "pulled" if someone flags them and Admin. approves. Those decisions are based on the rules and regs. of AB. You can check them out at the "Terms of Use" link below. If something is flagged and you disagree with it, you can contest it by sending a note using the Feedback link below -- explain why you think they should be reinstated. Often times, they are.

Members are the "overseers, 99% of the time. They flag questions and answers as they see fit. (And the vast majority of them are good at it.) Then staff mods have to approve or reject those flags. (Sometimes it seems they are "asleep at the wheel", but again, the vast majority of the time, they are good at it.) Occasionally, there are some small-minded people or jerks who try to flag good questions, or those "on the border" questions. And, sometimes, the staff mods ARE asleep at the wheel, maybe having gone through a whole bunch of acceptable flags, and, on "auto-pilot" they approve one (or some) good questions/answers. Any question or answer flagged and accepted can be reinstated. Go to the bottom of the page, for the question or specific answer, click the Feedback link, and state your reason, logically, not emotionally, that the question or answer should be reinstated. If the admin agrees, the question will be reinstated. (Sometimes, all it takes is for the admin to see the question for them to reinstate it, but sometimes it takes more.) Remember that if an account is nuked (the person spammed more than anything, or was offensive, all comments will be removed, all questions and answers are flagged as spam/offensive, their username is set to Anonymous and their avatar is set to the standard blue bag. They are no longer allowed on that account. And, yes... There are numerous cases where the user asked a number of "good" questions and/or gave some "good" answers. Again, if you run across some of those, simply FEEDBACK them, as above, and see what happens. (Even THOSE questions can be reinstated.) And, BTW: It's NOT "most of them are neither". It's "SOME of them are neither".

Members are the ones who do most of the flagging here, though the staff often times is looking at the site and doing it directly. They usually get rejected because they are Nonsense or Spam/Offensive according to the definition of what that is here on this website. It's not a personal definition, it's what the staff feels they are. Nonsense often means a pure statement or an incomplete sentence or question. Since it's not complete, it's Nonsense according to them. If it's a command and not question, it could be Nonsense. If it's asking for points or to be downrated, it's Nonsense. Check out some of the definitions at these two links. http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/99373 http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/99372 And yes, the staff does make mistakes, especially when they are swamped with thousands of flags but if you find something you object to, even if it's not your question or answer, then use the Feedback button on the bottom of that page and bring it to their attention and why you feel it was incorrectly flagged.
