Question

Help answer this question below.

I have a 1995 Ford F250 dually with a 460 cid. It keeps burning the spark plug boots on #1 and 2. I have consulted several different auto parts stores to no avail. I am in desperate need as this is my only means of transportation right now. Tx!

Ths spark plugs can barely get any hotter than the head, so it would have to be heat from the exhaust manifold. Heat shields could be missing or it could just be a bad design.

Have you tried installing heat shields between the manifold and the boots? Im not sure if they were fitted with them originally

the Ford 460 exhaust manifolds had a bad habit of warping and breaking manifold bolts, allowing hot exhaust to escape past the gasket. this would be evident by a black buildup of soot around that bolt and allowing the super hot gasses to burn the spark plug boots. It was most common on the drivers side front bolt and passenger side rear bolt.
If your truck has the dual 2 inch exaust pipes, that is most likely your problem as it did not let the motor breath well which causes the manifolds to build up a lot of heat, which in turn warps them and breaks the bolts.
