  • A spouse cannot be forced to testify. If they could possibly say anything harmful, there is NO way their spouse's council would allow him/her to testify. If the spouse does testify, they can be held as a hostile witness and be required to answer all questions with Yes or No answers. Failing to answer would result in contempt of court and possible imprisonment.
