You need to be able to answer some basic questions, like where will you get your Internet access from? Cable company (via a cable modem)? Phone company (via ADSL or FiOS)? or maybe via some wireless WiMax service like Clear? You need to have an Internet provider.
If you have one of those, you might think about calling them up and asking for help setting up your system. That's part of what you are paying them for.
Another thing you could do would be to find a friend or relative who knows more about setting up your computer with a network connection.
Does anybody use 4shared to download music? if so...

You're reading I just switched my old internet modem for this new ethernet thing. I dont know much about either but now that i have this ethernet i cant download anything it keeps saying "download has timed out" if u know anything that will help please answer.
