Generally it's not OK... and I don't like liars... But sometimes if it's save the situation and a white lie yes it's OK

To save someone's life To protect someone's dignity/feelings When a lie is told to cover your own a**, no. When a lie is told to benefit another who would be grievously harmed/injured by the truth...yes.
