It's all about marketing. Package it well, tell Americans it will make their life better, and they will buy into it.

Yes, it has gone too far. Natural does not mean healthy. People have died from using so-called "natural" medicines. Homeopathy, for the most part, is a joke.
-
Correct. And a lot of "natural" remedies are absolutely worthless. +5

I agree. I think it is a good idea to consult with a professional alternative medicine practitioner. There are many very knowledgeable people in this field. Self-medication -- even the taking of vitamins -- can be dangerous. Best to see a professional. And keep learning through experience what helps you.

It's like the organic craze. Everybody thinks that the food will be healthier if they don't use chemical fertilizers. The thing is, those chemical fertilizers haven't ever caused any problems. And, without those fertilizers, you can't grow as much food in the same area of land. This means more land needs to be used to grow the same amount of food. That's pretty wasteful. And finally, because they are forced to use natural manure fertilizer, the cases of E.coli in organic food are very numerous. Many people don't seem to realize that water is a chemical. An acid, in fact.
