I'm not afraid, but I hate it! I hate driving 2 hours to the airport, checking in, taking off my shoes & waiting. Then you get on & are so cramped for hours & then there's always the most frustrating wait in the world when it's time to get off.

I fly only in an emergency or if my destination demands it. I do not like it at all; I can hardly breathe until I'm back on the ground.

  The first time I flew. I flew down to Florida to visit family all alone. I was not afraid at all. I had just graduated from College. My friends Father was a pilot. I understood about flying. Now I freak at the thought. It has to do with the times we live in. The lack of skilled pilots and much more.

- I have never liked it AT ALL. I get sick thinking about it. I had to fly east coast to west coast last year because my daughter was in the hospital and I had to get there fast. When I came home, I rented a car and drove those 3000 miles -- so much happier.

  I had a bad flight home from California to New York. They were tripping and serving food.
  I also hate prop plates that do most short flights. I will never take one again.

- You haven't lived til you've flown on one of the planes that takes off and lands on water. I just about had a heart attack that time. I have flown to Europe several times too -- hardly breathing for all of those hours.

- LOL You would get a kick out of the Women who cuts my Hair. She gets drunk and takes a nap. Is she insane? To me that is like saying if the plane crashes I don't want any chance to survive.

- Even the pilot who landed the plane on the Hudson said they should receive more training.
  My friend who's Dad is a retired Pilot told me the same thing. They use to have more training. They have changed some of the rules. They also fly more hours without rest.
  I don't think a less experienced pilot could have done what that guy did. I think experience means a lot.

I love flying and my favorite part is the rush down the runway as the plane collects speed just before taking off!

I was forced to fly a couple of times, and I did not like it. I think my problem is the idea that someone else is in control of a dangerous piece of equiptment.

I also prefer to drive myself anywhere I need to go.
If I had a pilot license, I would not be afraid because I would fly myself if possible.

Neither.. I hate flying. I hate the hastle, the lack of comfort, the other (annoying) passengers. I am not scared to fly though.

Depends ... am I in a plane? Then I'm not afraid.

Am I hang gliding? Then yes, a little. I tried it for the first time a couple months ago. Very exciting but scary since there is nothing like a parachute to save you in case something goes wrong.

I guess it's like saying I feel very comfortable sitting in a car but feel a little exposed and more aware of my surroundings when riding a motorcycle.

- I must admit, I am not afraid though there seem to be a lot of aeroplane accidents lately. I read a report in one of our local newspaper yesterday that said somewhere in the States, Minneapolis? Minnesota?, a plane with 244 peope overshot the airport. For one hour and 18 minutes, the tower tried to contact the two pilots, to no avail. Fortunately, eventually the cabincrew noticed something amiss (surely they must also have been asleep!!)--and woke/alerted? the pilots. The pilots excuse was that they had been having a heated argument -- which is ridiculous. I suppose there will be an enquiry but this report said they had both fallen asleep!! Whatever happened, that is serious stuff.

- Yes they should do lots of things but no one seems to pay attention until after the big accidents; and all the investigations lead no place. Blame never seems to be placed on those in charge for not foreseeing things.

At first i am always nervous but once i buckle up and we take off i feel fine and relax i like to look at the clouds it's very neat!!!!

I used to like it, better than spending hours in the car. But now a days with all the dang plane wrecks its made me not want to fly. Plus now that I am older I kind of enjoy driving and seeing all the sights.
