If i made a blog or a website how would i get it to show up in search engines or any search like google and or others?

Sign up for google adsense. Even if you put it right at the bottom of the page in the same colour as the page (so nobody can see it), still Google comes by every so often to see what sort of adverts to put that will match your latest blog entry. If you get into the habit of posting roughly every day, then google will trawl your site every day. Another way is to join technorati or blogexplosion, both have a way to ping your own blog when you've updated so that they or multiple services can come and see what you've done.

Two ways, first is organic which is to use backlinks or place your links in sites well indexed or with high PR like blog comments, forums etc in your own content. Second is to have your site marketed with articles or press releases and to have people storm to the site attracting the web spiders. These two account for about 50% web SEO strategy and most others blackhat these.
