The trouble with truth is -- It hurts. It hurts to know the truth and it hurts to tell the truth. Telling a little white lie might keep us out of trouble for a while. It may save us embarrassment of not admitting to a mistake that we let others take the blame, so we can stay behind our shield and continue to project perfection.
Knowing the truth can also upset us. Learning things that were not as we believed can devastate us, taking away from our perspective of things that we thought to be real. The lie works both ways. We don't like to be lied too.
It's the old double standard I guess; we can dish it out but we can't take it.

No, they are equal. Both show what you are on the inside.

Some would say its worse to lie no matter what, but there are times when the lie will save alot of hurt, i wont give examples, but there are times when a lie is better.

I wish there was a Santa and a tooth fairy .. but there isnt .. and even when we are kids ..parents lie to us telling us fables. I say if you have to lie to get what you want .. then do it .. everyone at some point or time do it .. its not an honest thing to do but I must admit some outcomes are as positive as the negative ones.

    Although,
“The unreal is more powerful than the real, because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. Because its only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. stone crumbles. wood rots. people, well, they die. but things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on.”
    - Chuck Palahniuk

For thE gOOd of us all, in my opinion it is worse to lie all the way.
a lie is lyke working in the dark, we cant work with that. truth is like a light, atleast with truth we know the reality of the situation and can work with it, to improVe it, make it work for us, or to not be disillusioned by it.

I understand how dreary life and reality can bE at times so i really do appreciate and admire well intentioned lies somEtimes.
but i haVe met some miserable unhappy people who would rather be disillusioned bcuZ they cant cope with reality as they know it and that can haVe profound affects on thE rest of us.
