  • You need a non-slip rug pad. They are usually sold a stores that sell area rugs, home improvement stores, and stores like Target, Walmart, Bed, Bath and Beyond . . . You put it under the area rug to prevent it from moving, and to protect the floor underneath from friction marks.
  • You might have some luck with double sided tape.
  • I have tried everything. I mean it. It is so annoying. Sounds like we have a great patent idea for an invention we can sell for 19.95 on the television. How about those plastic loops that attach to the same material? You see them on gym shoes as closings some times or in place of buttons or zippers. One side is sticky, put that side on the back of the area rug. Then put the opposite side on the floor rug. The two non sticky sides should meet and hold. I'm sure it needs work this idea, because the sticky side is touching rug material on the floor which will eventually come loose or may harm the rug fabric.
