Why would someone you just started dating try to make you jealous? I mean what is the point? It only makes me not want to date them! Is it supposed to make them more desirable? Will they ever stop?

if they dont really like the one that they use to make you jealous of, then probably they just want to see your reaction about it, maybe to know if you really like them..and i guess when the relationship is establish already they would most likely stop it.

Because they may worry that you are not that into them, and if you show no jealousy then to him it seems like you don't care. It could just be a type of test.

Insecurity! Any person that would do things that hurts the other just to get attention deserves to be dumped. If the person can change his/her behavior then find, but if it continues, they will end up bringing you down as well!
