Help answer this question below.
It's not technically racist, but people who say it generally are racist.
The words itself aren't racist. The motivation behind them, though, is another story. And as for those tests that they make the immigrants take
And as for those tests they have to pass - Our teacher gave us the same test as the one used by immigrants. I was the only one in my entire class of thirty-five students to pass. This was your average high school class. My teacher called me aside afterward and said that I was the only one to pass that test all day. which means at least half of my school would also have had to jump the fence.
This is the kind of thing that makes me really really angry. It showcases just how disgustingly out of touch with reality the people in seats of power really are. The reason this country supports itself is due to illegal immigrants. They take the jobs that Americans turn up their nose at, at very little pay and no benefits, usually more than one job in fact. They are the legs those rich politicians stand on, and that position demands respect.
Yes, there are criminals who have entered the country. But just like here in the U.S., the grand majority of illegal immigrants are good people who just want a chance at a better life. So go ahead if you want to. Go ahead and spit on everything America stands for:
"Give me your tired, your poor
Your huddled masses
Yearning to breathe free
The wretched refuse
Of your teeming shore
Send these the homeless,
Tempest tossed to me
I lift my lamp beside the golden door.
Because mexicans aren't white. If that doesn't make sense to you, you're a friggin racist.
Now a days the word "racist' is used to shut up any person or point of view you don't like.
It depends upon the usage. It isn't inherently racist. Impractical, yes, but not racist.
The trouble comes when it is used to apply to a certain race, or "illegals" becomes synonymous with a certain race or ethnic group. In the US, people are particularly prone to it with Hispanics. Many Hispanics aren't even immigrants. (Hint: they were born here. Their parents immigrated, or they were born in one of the states that used to be part of Mexico.) Many are legal immigrants. Certainly, there are illegal immigrants of all races and ethnicities.
In playing the game of life, the most effective card is the: Race Card.
One can use it anytime you want to win the round, and you get to use it as many times as you want.
On its own, it isn't. It could hint at a racist attitude, but those two words together aren't racist. It's all about the delivery and supporting argument/reasoning.
It's not. It's just another excuse. If you are against something it makes you racist. If you say "illegal" they automatically say you are racist toward Mexicans. Since when did anyone say Mexicans. Again just an excuse to justify the fact that they have no business being here to begin with.
Illegal is illegal, no matter how you cut it.
Telling someone they are in America illegally is not racist, its the truth.
The truth hurts.
They know what they can do, if they do not like this statement.
It's not! And it's not anti-immigrant or anti-immigration, either. Those are terms being used by liberal and left-wing politicians, i.e., Democrats and RINO's, who want the votes of the flood of illegals coming into our country.
In other words, like immigrants who come before you, ask to come to our great Country, be accepted and come legally with good will in your hearts, want to give more to the Country than you want to take...and you will be more than welcomed by the good citizens of the United States. And as far as I'm concerned, and most of us, that goes for anyone from any country...since, for the most part, we Americans are non-racists...contrary to what SOME would have you believe.
+5
It's not. Police are just doing their job. If they can't come into the country the right way, then to me they are hiding something and shouldn't be aloud in illegally.
It is not racist to feel that people have no right to come to your country illegally.
In America we allow everyone to come but coming illegally is illegal. We must maintain law and order. No one is above the law.
It isn't, you are just stating what they are. Illegals don't pertain to ANY race
Everybody knows all illegals are Mexican. You are targetting a certain ethnic race and telling them all the leave this country of mixed races.
it isn't
if its written on a sign that has a picture of a mexican/hispanic family, because then its a generalization towards a certain race
When you twist it to make the debate about race and not about sovereignty.
when you find out let me know :
It's not, it's called law enforcement.
those damn frostbacks won't stay on their side of the border >:( greedy canadians always wanting all of our freedom (jk, just mocking the US and their views on mexicans lol)
it is not. making it impossible for them to get here legaly is apathy towards other humans but it is not racist in any way. apathy towards other humans is how america runs... what is the standard answer when grunts think they should be able to survive off less than 80 hours per week. "get an education and maybe you could earn some more money" the very people whos wealth is built upon the backs of these laborers have no concern for how their economic slaves are supposed to afford food, they are too bussy increasing their salaries to so they don't have to suffer the indignity of flying commercial with the commoners.
It's not, those who accuse others as racist have a very narrow view on what really is going on and fail to look into the real problem. Instead they rely on race baters to feed information for them to pass judgment.
When you're using it to win your liberal arguement, it is. When all other arguements fail, throw the racist card.
Can't imagine.
To deport illegal immigrants is not racist because if you entered their country of origin illegally their officials would deport you back home too!!
It's not.

You're reading How is "Deport Illegals" racist?
Comments
That a very huge generalization and not at all true.

There are exceptions, but don't kid yourself. Deporting someone usually ruins their life, as well as their family's. The level of callousness needed to support that has to come from somewhere. Racism is a common source.

Just because some people's racism may drive them to support deporting illegals does not make the term a racist term. I don't even know how racism enters it. Over the last 30 years many many people came into the USA through Canada who were from many countries. When people support deporting illegals, they support the law, regardless of who may be the ones in violation of it. My guess is it is the young who think illegal alien only applies to Hispanics because that's most of what they've ever heard about it. But, for years Middle Eastern and Asian people flooded here through the Canadian border illegally.
by Thriftymaid on October 21st, 2009
I said it is not a racist term. Look at my original answer. Also, the idea that people are just "supporting the law" is a red herring. The law wasn't mandated by heaven. It was put there by people. Racist people.
by OZe on October 21st, 2009
Thrifty, OZe is the perfect example. You're being called a racist without using the word. Yet.
