I chose based upon ethics, logic, and evidence. Mostly, I just got away from dogma and doctrine completely.

My background was Baptist..Several family members were preachers. However, my immediate family saw much hypocracy being practiced in the Churches..So my mother just stopped attending church... Years later, I came into contact with Jehovah's witnesses. They answered my questions from the Bible. When I started attending the Kingdom Hall, it was like a class room and we studied the Bible...I was amazed to learn what the Bible really says. However, I have to admit that I learned some things that I didn't want to know, because it meant that I would have to make some major changes in my life to be acceptable to God. It took me a while to come to grips with this. However, after a couple of years I was baptised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. That was 38 years ago.

I'm spiritual and rather not follow just one religion. I was baptized Catholic, went to a Baptist church as a kid and studied a little Buddhism after that.

Raised Catholic. Now I'm an atheist because there's no evidence that any god exists of any religion I've ever heard of.

I'm agnostic. My parents were christian (anglican and protestant) while I was growing up, though religion was not a part of our lives. We went to church more for the social aspect and gave it up in favor for sleeping in on Sundays when I was about 6. My father is now an atheist. I don't think I gave much consideration to my religious beliefs growing up, but looking back I would say I have always been agnostic.

aetheist and my parents never pushed religion. baasically i used to be a christian then for a short time i was agnostic then i went aetheist. basically it was my neighbors constant pestering of "worshipping" with them, the ignorance of religions and their follwers, and the fact that i had increasingly bad luck that never let up

My dad's a former Catholic turned Protestant and my mom has always been an atheist. I was raised Catholic for a while then forcibly converted to Protestantism. I'm agnostic because I feel like there should be something big and powerful out there in the universe, I just don't want to bother worshiping it or naming it.
