First thing that pops into my head is the uniform, and discipline and ability to follow orders. They have my utmost respect, it's something I could never do.

What came first to mind are strength, endurance and patriotism. When I look at the word longer, war comes to mind - with all its negative forces and outcomes. Civilians who live in a war zone or have to flee the area, have to be as strong as a soldier, even stronger because they don't have the technical means to defend themselves.......
