  • It depends on what sect of the Taliban and what kind of deal. There are certain agreements I could support (eg power sharing where moderate Talibs have a stake in government), but I don't think we should let Afghanistan sink back into a full dictatorial theocracy like it was in the 90s when the Taliban was in full control and people were basically allowed to throw acid in a woman's face if it was exposed in public. Most of the people in Afghanistan were opposed to that society because before the Taliban took over it was a fairly modern, secular country.
  • Only with hollow points.
  • Wasn't the US cutting a deal what started the Taliban in the first place?
  • I'm afraid it's the only way this war will be stopped. For every Taliban member killed their seems to be another 5 in the wings ready to take their place ( Some just out of school) Negotiation was the only way the UK Government were able to stop the IRA and so stop terrorism after over 100yrs! . Even if the Taliban are beaten 'In the Field' they will continue with terrorist acts like the IRA did.
  • What kind of deal? A drug deal? Afghanistan is a Narco state, flowing with drug money. Any deal would include allowing control of that business.
  • The Taliban would in NO way cut a deal with North America. It would never happen.
  • If they cut a deal it would only be so the fighting would stop giving the Taliban time to reorganize, train and attack again. They would never keep to the treaty or what ever it would be.
  • Not only would they never cut a deal, the Taliban wouldn't honor the agreement even if there were one. Their goal is to see everyone's blood but their own run through the gutters like water after a cloud burst.
  • No. I think our brave troops should kill every last Taliban member.
