Typically not. Most companies require one to work an eight hour day before lunch or breaks are required. However, they should at least allow one fifteen minute break though they are not required to. You can, however, make frequent "restroom" breaks.

Yes, you SHOULD get a break. Is is not required by law. http://www.dol.gov/dol/topic/workhours/breaks.htm

In Europe, your employer is legally obliged to give you a break. In the US I don't think so, but most do anyway.

I believe a person is entitled to two 15 minute breaks if they work a 6 hours shift. The first break would be after working 2 hours and the 2nd break would be about 2 hours before you go home. This may not be the same for all states.

If you are in the US, then no. The law only reqires a break for a anyone working more than six hours (30 min break).

for every employer i ever worked, at exactly 6 hours they automatically deducted half an hour for lunch no matter if your only worked 6 hours, 7 hours or what. unfortunately this is a grey area that is almost entirely in favor of the employer http://www.legalandrew.com/2007/06/07/lunch-break-and-hour-laws-you-should-know/

No, you should receive a lunch and two 15 minute breaks if you work 8 hours a day and a 40 hour work week based on a 7 day work period. Anything else is considered part time employment.

From what I remember if you work at least 4 hours you're entitled to a 15 minute break. Six hours is on the fence so I would check with your boss or your Human Resources department.
