  • Except for playing Chess or Cards I prefer to go it alone in most of my activities. I don't care too much for entertainment these days. I consider introspection the most serious activity that everyone must indulge in after age 55. These days I prefer solitude most of the time. I can sit by the river for hours immersed in thought, for instance. Answerbag helps me introspect as I get to see a lot of questions that makes self-analysis as a serious pursuit possible.
  • While I find things like movies and amusement parks are more fun with others, I have no issue going alone if no friends are available.

  • I haven't developed the courage to go eat at a restaurant alone. I'd rather bring it home and eat by myself.
  • I never go out at night alone Never go to a restaurant alone...takeout is better Before Jim and I met I would regularly do the following all alone and had a very good time Go to a bookstore Go to the library Go to a mall Go to a matinee (cheaper then and in the daytime) Go grocery shopping I've always had a good time by myself. That's good because I was alone for 20 years and I would have been one sad cookie cooped up in my apartment for that length of time! :)
  • I would never contemplate going into a bar on my own. I would feel extremely vulnerable.
  • I don't go to places like that anyway. Crowds bother me. +2
