Death Note. A guy finds a notebook that says anyone whose name is written in it will die. He tests it. It works. He decides he's going to rid the world of evil and rule over what's left. He starts being followed around by a Shinigami (Death God) who used to own the notebook. Bizarre shit ensues. An EXCELLENT show.

"Gravitation" (it's yaoi, but g-rated... if you're homophobic, you might want to avoid) "Hellsing" is great. "Cowboy Bebop" is one of my favorites. "Bleach" seems interesting so far. (I haven't seen the whole series.)
