  • I wouldn't just in case something happens to your Firefox. Bad fix to be without a browser.
  • No, absolutely not advisable. There are some websites that for whatever bs reason are not fully compatible with FireFox, also if you ever have to visit some of the Microsoft sites, such as the Windows update site, they will refuse to work with anything other than IE.
  • it's more like impossible. but you can disable it and only enable it when you need to (which has been discussed in other answers)
