I actually watched one of these carried out on National Geo channel. It's more than a bit gross. I cannot imagine anyone (unless you were brought up in that culture) wanting to be cut up after death and literally thrown to the vultures. I doubt that (unless you were from that culture) many of your rellies would turn up either. I actually like the Zoroastrian "burial" better. The body is taken into the dakhma, the Tower of SIlence, which is open to the sky, and laid upon a sloping "bed" of rock. Then the bearers leave, and the vultures come. Over the next few days, the fluids drain into a well below the bed, and the flesh and bones are consumed...very little left at the end
