I'm aure Joseph was ridiculed in his day for the things he would be if he had to go through it now, just on a different level. I think that this was obviously a work of God and you would have strength there. God would bless you for the task you were undertaking and it would be easier with His help. Also, for Joseph to be chosen for sure a thing, he had to be a very honorable character. So, if I were me, I would hope to be just as faithful and I would be helped through it.

Probably I would react the same way as he did originally: Matthew 1 18This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. 19Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. ======== In those days, the engagement was as binding as the marriage itself, and could only be broken by a divorce. To divorce meant giving a reason. Giving a reason would have meant Mary's death. Joseph knew the rules, but he must have loved her. Besides he was a righteous man, the text says, and with righteousness comes mercy. I can imagine he was pretty humiliated and angry. He would have thought she was lying to cover her betrayal. He would have wondered: How could she do this to me? I offered her everything I had... =========== 20But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus,[c] because he will save his people from their sins." ========== In fact the only thing that stopped him from going through with the plan was direct intervention from God...
