Help answer this question below.
Of all animal species, I'd say that humans make the best sculptures.
Of all non-human species, my first guess is the African termite, although its constructs are probably more deposit than they are sculpture:

With humans doing the sculpting - dolphins are my favorite subject.
Animals doing the sculpture - it would be a toss up between termites, ants, and beavers.
I've seen the majority of sculptures of horses. I would not mind sculpting an animal with a human. Otherwise, it seems boring. +5
The best animal subjects for a sculpture are probably human.
I think this because I believe only humans actually appreciate the art in a sculpture, and since humans have more depth of character to their being, the sculptor can put more levels of meaning into every little facet of the sculpture. Doing so would lead the viewer to discover new meanings of the sculpture as they observed it in more detail.

Yes, I should have said, next to humans. I was thinking there are many horses, maybe lions, and a few dragons. But I'm not out there in the big world of museums, so I don't know what there is out there. Wow! That's a big sculpture---busy little creatures, aren't they? Thanks! +6

Oh, I see what you're asking.

I guess my favorite sculpture of an animal would be a jade dragon with red ruby eyes. :)
