  • Go to a weatherspoons (pub) and try their sunday roast. Also, go to Falkners on Kingsland Rd, Hackney (not a nice area tbh, but if you do not mind a bit of ghetto its well worth it) for some fish and chips. Also, try and find a pie and mash shop for some jellied eels. Sounds nasty, but its a traditional cockney thing and is not too bad. You might also want to venture into the Bethnal Green area (similar to Hackney mentioned above) and try one of the curry houses. Some advice, dont flash your cash in public. If your in the areas mentioned above do not use a map and stay on the main roads (just to avoid getting lost). Remember, London is a BIG city, similar in size to NYC, so treat it as such. The majority of visitors are welcomed with open arms. Have fun :=)
  • Pick any kind of international cuisine you have not tried, and try it in London. London has some of the best restaurants in the world, and almost every cuisine is catered for. It's a good oportunity to try foods from all over the world, not just British food!
  • Definitely get a steak pie and mash in a reputable pub, it is more than delicious. Also, if you can make it to Brick Lane in East London and get a decent curry. They are not expensive and are very good, authentic like from India. You cannot go to London without getting a fish and chips at least once. Also get a good fry up, with black pudding in the morning.
  • I have traveled to London many times and one doesn't go there for the food. But since you ask, here you go: 1) For breakfast, find a mid-range hotel that serves a breakfast buffet. Be sure to have some kippers and grilled tomatoes. 2) For lunch, find an old pub; pate', steak and kidney pie, and bangers and mashed are good choices, with a pint of lager to wash it down if you're old enough. 3) Ok, you've had the best of British food already, so for dinner, find a Tandoori Indian place, I'd recommend the Tandoori mixed grill, papadum, and Keema Nan.
