• Oh, hell...! You are just a kid! I am looking at retirement here in a few years. Or maybe not. I am not sure I can retire!(?) I may have to die in the harness. (That means when they couldn't afford to put the old mule out to pasture. They had to work him till he dropped in harness).

• That's about what they done to this old mule. After a life time on the farm & in the sawmills. In mid-93 I was put out to pasture only to fine that more fence was needed. I've picked a side job out as caretaker to 14 other farms most small no more than 80 to 300 acres each. Only the one that needs or needed the most work was 1400 acres. I don't think I'll ever get to retire. Only wish I could see todays kids try stacking 50 to 65.000 feet of lumber each day & then come home & see Dad on the tractor bailing & no one else around to put up about 300 to 600 bales before bed time. I was sure glad when he bought that round bailer. Geeee....And some wonder how 50 could be old. All depends on what you did during those years. And still stuck having to do half of it just like you Tom. I don't think us mules will find rest till we do break our necks or drop in those there harness. Something most have no idea what a harness even is. Lets go pull some more logs or plows etc:. later long ears. MCS

• Good point Tom47. I can not believe what I stated in the above comment. I think this old mule need's to get a hour or two of shuteye. Or maybe just be shot. Did you see what I said about us going to (PULL) some more logs or plows etc? I am getting bad Tom for if we go pulling those logs. I believe we may just pull them there harness right off our selfs. Crazy old me, why did I not see that Boo boo before I posted it. Told ya I was old. We push when going forward. Maybe you can use that as a question and get ya a few points there Tom. I am to sleepy to ask the question....M.C.S.
