Cats are very independent creatures. They clean themselves, they are loyal, they do not eat very much and they sleep all the time.

Considering it's an opinion-based essay, you should probably stick with your opinions as to why you believe cats make the best pets.

They're better listeners than dogs...only from my experience. Cats will listen, but dogs just want you to throw another ball. LOL Really, I have & love them, both but my heart and my secrets belong to my cat, Blinky.

Leave out all the facts about cats. The smell of the litter box. The torn up curtains. The people who won't visit you because of allergies. The expensive Vet bills,(they always need shots or something). They are the worst domestic pets going. The best? BUNNIES!

I think cats are less expensive to raise than dogs. I have both and the difference in vet bills is unreal. For instance to get a dog fixed it is $90 and for a cat it is $35. It is the same differences with their regular check-ups also. I would tell about that. You can call in your area that might not be the case everywhere, but it might be.

I would say cats make the best pets because.... * They can entertain themselves with their toys when you don't have the time to play with them. * You don't have to worry about rushing home to leave them out to go to the bathroom. * They somewhat clean up after themselves as in covering up their stuff when done going to the bathroom. * They can be your best buddies after a long day at work or school by jumping up on your lap and relaxing with you. * You have your own personal exterminator at no charge. Hope that helps you out a little.

I'm allergic to cats so they would make a terrible pet for me.

I think it's because cats make you feel special when they choose to let you into their world. It's like a gift to be included in a cat's family because they are so picky about whom they will love.

I have a cat but I'm more of a dog person. But my cat is cool. She's incrediably independant. I let her out in the morning and feed her at night and shes good.

because they are low maintenance, you can leave them for a few days (w/plenty of food and water of course), they will be fine. They don't need daily walks. They are playful and oh so darn cute ..and soft..and sweet...and cuddly.
