  • Yeah it can if you are a professional sports player or you do a job that requires maximum lung potential like underwater welding.
  • these days they will ask you at a job interview if you smoke and it is an issue here in Australia will heath and safety ,you will not find many jobs where you are allowed to smoke and they are even bringing a law that you are not to smoke in a car with children aboard ,yes it can and will effect your job or chances of getting one.
  • Yep, especially if your job is 'Olympic swimmer', or 'pearl diver'.
  • i depends on your boss... does he smoke? and your job, what do you do? and if you take it outside during your break.
  • It could if your company has a no smoking policy that you violate. Violating ANY company policy could cost you your job. But if your company has designated smoking areas and allows for breaks, you should have to worry if you smoke only on break time and in a designated area. The boss might not like the fact that you smoke, but if you are not breaking a rule, he can't fire you unless he catches you breaking some other rule or is your work is not up to expectations.
  • There are companies who have required their employees to quit smoking as a condition of employment. While I think that is a shortsighted policy, I think they have the right to do that.
