That's probably the connecting wire for the monitor. It might be loose and acts up. Just play around with the wire that connects the monitor to your computer. If it goes on and off, then that's the problem. In that case, just stick some tape on that mother and he'll stay in place. Happens to me all the time.
Could also be software/protection programming. If your computer stops operating, the monitor can lose signal. It 'thinks' well enough to complain about it. My 3 month old Acer has done that too, when it overheated.

I have a monitor that says d-sub. I want to plug my hdmi from the ps3 to play on the monitor. What cables will I need? Does DVI-D fit in it?

You're reading On my computer it sometimes freezes and then the moniter goes black and then says "no signal" Do you know whats happening
